Status (4/13/21): On 03/14/2019, the bill was read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions in the Senate. Unfortunately, the bill failed to pass and progress on it has since stalled.
The Plant Based Foods Association staff and members took on Capitol Hill to meet with Congress and Senate leaders to vote against the Dairy Pride Act. The Dairy Pride Act PBFA kicked-off this two-day long marathon on the Hill with their first ever Lobby Day. Joined by several PBFA members, PBFA’s Executive Director (ED), Michele Simon and Lobbyist, Shannon Campagna from Alston&Bird, powered through a day full of meetings with key representatives of Congress and the Senate to share their perspective against the Dairy Pride Act.
Having our members present on Lobby Day was key in sharing the impact that proposed legislation, such as the Dairy Pride Act, could have on plant based food business and and how it would would be detrimental to their bottom line. PBFA is grateful to the following members who were able to make it out and share their personal perspectives as well as share key testimonials from their consumers:
