Sacramento, CA – The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), the industry trade association representing more than 170 plant-based food companies, is expanding its efforts in its home-state of California with the addition of an influential lobbyist to its advocacy team. PBFA has 41 PBFA members headquartered in California, including many leading brands. California is known for both its innovation and delicious foods.
Leading the charge in Sacramento for PBFA is Jennifer Fearing, president of Fearless Advocacy, and a top California advocate for mission-based organizations like PBFA. Fearing will work with PBFA’s executive director, Michele Simon, who is also an experienced policy advocate in California, and Dan Colegrove, who leads state-level lobbying for PBFA nationwide.
“We are thrilled to add Jennifer Fearing to our California advocacy team,” said PBFA’s Simon. “Jennifer’s deep experience and connections along with her track record leading numerous precedent-setting initiatives in California is what PBFA needs to advance plant-based foods in our home state.”
”Fearless Advocacy is delighted to add PBFA to our roster of organizations whose missions we believe in,” said Fearing. “We are excited to advocate in Sacramento for an organization whose members are meeting the growing demand for delicious and sustainable plant-based foods.”
PBFA’s work in California will include continued pursuit of a level playing field for plant-based foods in the marketplace. From expanding the food options available in school cafeterias to defending the right of plant-based food companies to accurately label their foods, PBFA is ready to engage with lawmakers and regulators in Sacramento.
