Q: Can you tell us a bit more about the history of RevoluGreen! and the inspiration  behind its founding? 

A: Revolugreen! originates from the vision of a group of forward-thinking individuals, both young and  experienced, deeply committed to the food industry and eager to contribute to a more sustainable  planet. Our collective focus is firmly set on production processes that not only refrain from harming  the environment but actively support its well-being. 

We are embarked on a gastronomic revolution, one that allows us to savor ready meals featuring  entirely plant-based proteins and beneficial nutrients, all without compromising on taste—a  fundamental principle we hold dear. With only one planet at our disposal, our passion is to do  everything within our power to promote beneficial eating practices while safeguarding our world.

Our mission is to provide consumers with ready meals that are not only delicious but also  inclusive, as we strive to embrace everyone. We aim to cater to both the strict plant-based  consumer and the flexitarian who varies their diet. We aspire to be a plant-based alternative  across various consumer segments, all while aligning with the goal of environmental  stewardship. 

However, our vision extends beyond just providing alternatives; we aim to become a leading  sustainable plant-based manufacturer on an industrial scale, offering competitive prices and  adapting to consumer needs efficiently across all our markets.

Can you share more about the “green revolution” and what it means to your  company? How do you hope to see the green revolution take off in the coming  years?

One of our company’s core commitments is sustainability. In our daily operations, we actively  practice the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling to align with environmental  conservation goals, thereby reducing our water footprint and CO2 emissions. 

Furthermore, we are firmly committed to a “Zero Waste” approach across our diverse product  range, owing to the extended shelf life of our offerings.

One of the goals of this series is to help shine a light on the stories and  individuals behind the companies. What is your big “why” for working in the  plant-based foods industry? Is there a particular cause or fact that you learned  that motivated your work and passion? 

Our restlessness, our refusal to settle for conventional standards, and our constant drive for  innovation, technology, and the wealth of information at our fingertips—these are the driving  forces behind our mission. 

The food industry is a captivating realm, forever in motion, offering opportunities for  improvement. It’s our duty not to stand still but to keep moving forward. 

In our relentless pursuit of improvement and value addition, we realized that we possessed the  tools to bring value and do things right within our category. 

At this stage, we are all acutely aware of the importance of caring for our environment, animals,  recovery, and recycling—essential aspects that underscore our commitment.

What has been the most rewarding moment or pivotal milestone you’ve witnessed  during your time at RevoluGreen!? As a plant-based company, are there any big  moments of celebration you’d like to share? 

The most rewarding aspect for us is realizing that consumers return and choose us again at their  go-to stores. 

However, seeing our products featured in renowned retailers like Sprouts, Central Market…and  many independent stores in New York reinforces our belief that we are on the right path.

In essence, witnessing the progressive expansion of our presence in national retailers across the  United States is a source of hope and encouragement. 

Based on your experience, what were some obstacles you had to overcome in  scaling your business, and what advice would you share with other aspiring plant based founders? 

On a personal level, one of the major challenges we have faced and will continue to encounter is  the lack of information and training among those on the purchasing side of the equation.  Identifying the person responsible for the category remains a challenge—it’s not equally  prioritized or relevant for everyone, but we’re making progress step by step. 

A few months ago, we witnessed a “boom” in the Plant-Based category, with a constant influx of  Plant-Based products that were not well-tested, developed, or refined in terms of taste, texture,  and ingredients. This didn’t benefit either the category or the collective movement we are all  striving to build. 

The development of this category remains a formidable challenge, and we need to keep working  to offer consumers tastier recipes, improved textures, nutritionally appealing options, all while  contributing to the sustainability of our planet.

Where do you envision RevoluGreen! in the next 5-10 years? What does success  look like to you? 

We are unequivocally committed to the Plant-Based category, and we will continue to be a part  of this paradigm shift. We are in no rush; our only commitment is to consistently launch and  innovate with products that have been thoroughly tested, all while striving to bring value to the  Plant-Based category, our customers, and the environment.

Can you give us a sneak peek into any notable news or exciting product launches  in the pipeline for 2023? 

We have several upcoming launches, and they will continue to be in the form of Ready-to-Eat  meals, refrigerated and ready to heat and enjoy. These meals will feature compelling and  enticing recipes.
